General News: (1) We only have 7 school days before Thanksgiving Break. That means MANY tests & quizzes that will overlap so that we have all testing completed before the break. PLEASE work on studying a little every night for every subject so you don’t get overloaded at the end of this week and beginning of next week. (2) Kids Kan food drive ends Tuesday of this week (3) My homeroom, you elected to adopt a little boy for Christmas. His needs and wants are coming home on Tuesday. All money & items to donate must be here by Monday 12/8/08. (4) Interims go home Wednesday – you have seen these grades on Power Grade if you have been checking.

Mon. 11/17 CW: Begin chp. 6 on Waves. Lesson 1 – what we focused on today covers surface & deep currents, and el nino. We watched the brain pop on Ocean Currents. Read & discussed all of lesson 1 pp. 142-151. Students had 30 minutes or more to work on workbook pp. 44-47 which are due Wednesday. HW: This is ALL homework for the whole week so you know when it is due. (1) wkbk. pp. 44-47 are due Wed. (2) Wkbk. pp. 48-49 are due Thurs. (3) textbook pp. 166-167 # 5-8, 9, 10, 14-17, & 24-26 are due Thurs. (4) definitions for all of chp. 6 vocabulary including a picture for each definitition are due Fri. (5) Vocab. Tues. 11/18 CW: (1) Waves – lesson 2 pp. 152-157. Read & discuss. You will NOT be responsible for memorizing the definitions on pp. 154-155 for the quiz or test. All other vocabulary from the chapter IS on the quiz & test. Be sure you can draw & label the parts of a wave. If you weren’t here today, be sure to see Brainpop on tsunamis. We also watched the Bill Nye video on water cycles. If you weren’t here, you need to look up what the water cycle is & how it works – do some research on the internet.
