General News…We are going angel shopping Monday at 6:30 p.m. at Walmart. Meet at the grocery entrance at 6:30 & be picked up at the same entrance at 7:15. Ho Ho Ho…… it will be so much fun to make 2 year old Darryl’s Christmas merry!! THANK YOU to all who helped shop. Darryl will have a GREAT Christmas! We will wrap the presents during science on Thursday.

26 SMALL ITEMS NEEDED BY NEXT THURSDAY – This is for you to put in fellow classmates holiday “treat bags.”  Examples of items are red pens, pencils, erasers, small candy – remember NO NUTS we have folks with allergies.  Please don’t wait to ask mom to get this for you.  We have 26 students in our homeroom.

Mon. 12/8 Moons & Eclipses – (1) lesson 2 chp. 9 pp. 243-250. (2) We added the moons that you need to know for your test to your manilla sheet about the planets. If you weren’t here be sure to get the moons added to your manilla sheet. (3) Brainpop on the moon & eclipses. (4) Workbook pp. 72-75 over moons. HW: textbook pp. 260-261 # 1-9, 11-19, & 24, 25, 28, & 29 due Thursday. TEST CHP 9 FRIDAY

Tues. 12/9 CW: (1) Check wkbk pp. 72-75. (2) Pop Quiz over checked workbook pages – if you checked your workbook correctly, you should have made a 100 on the quiz. (3) Bill Nye on Planets, Earth’s moon Luna, & eclipses HW: textbook pp. 260-261 # 1-9, 11-19, & 24, 25, 28, & 29 due Thursday. TEST CHP 9 FRIDAY

General News: We have $44 for our angel (thank you Brandi, Claire, Peyton, & Joseph D.) and 1 outfit (thank you Emily) for our toddler – he wears size 2T in clothes and a 6 in shoes. PLEASE ask to earn money by doing extra chores/jobs for your family members. We will shop next Monday 12/8 evening 6:30 p.m. at Walmart. Meet at the grocery entrance. We should be finished shopping no later than 7:15.  A Yearbook order form reminder went home Thursday.  Yearbooks need to be ordered & paid for on line.  See the sheet that came home Thursday.

Science 12/1 – 12/5

Mon. 12/1 CW: Read pp. 230-242 chp. 9 lesson 1 on planets & do wkbk. pp. 70-72 over section 1. Students did this throughout the day while taking their Think Link Test. HW: defintions for all of chp. 9 with a COLORED picture right beside the word/definition are due Friday.

Tues. 12/2 CW: Review planets – make chart for identifying characteristics of planets. ALL planets revolve and rotate and have mass. Otherwise, they are different. Watch Magic School Bus on planets and add notes to chart about each planet. HW: YIPPEE!!!! I got the lap top computer lab tomorrow. We will finish our Power Point presentations. Be sure & bring anything you need to complete your project tomorrow! defintions for all of chp. 9 with a COLORED picture right beside the word/definition are due Friday.

Wed. 12/3 CW: Power Point presentations – finish. HW: defintions due Friday You will have a QUIZ on Friday over planets – know the distinguishing traits & characteristics of each planet.

Thurs. 12/4 CW: Rotation & Revolution pp. 207-208 (2) Eyewitness video on planets – Which planet was light enough to float in a giant bath tub? HW: HW: defintions due tomorrow You will have a QUIZ tomorrow over planets – know the distinguishing traits & characteristics of each planet.  USE your MANILLA sheet to study – the one where you wrote all the facts about the planets.

Fri. 12/5 CW: (1) Quiz over planets (2) Review sheet on planets HW: Test over chp. 9 will be next Thursday or Friday.
