Dad’s Day is this Wednesday. Remind dad’s they may NOT park on the bus lot. They need to park on the most western side of school in the teacher’s parking lot.

Also, those who volunteered to bring the cookies for our lab, we need the cookies by Tuesday. Each class needs 2 boxes of Keebler’s Deluxe Chocolate chip hard cookies, 2 boxes of Chips A Hoy hard cookies, and 2 boxes of generic (Kroger only place that has them now) chocolate chip hard cookies

Science 2/23 – 2/27

Mon. 2/23 CW: (1) Review lesson 2 – take notes. (2) Demonstration of bimetallic strip curling when heated & conduction ball & ring – the ball expanded & would not go through the ring after the ball was heated. (3) check wb. pp. 106-109 from Friday (4) For a grade – completed questions about section 2 using your notes, checked workbook pages, & book. HW: PLEASE BRING THE COOKIES TOMORROW IF YOU PROMISED TO BRING THEM!!!!!

Tues. 2/24 CW: (1) Finish questions on section 2. (2) Drawings on conduction, convection, & radiation HW: KIDS KAN week – bring in canned goods for people in our community who really could use it in these hard times.

Wed. 2/25 CW: Dad’s Day mining coal (chocolate chips from cookies) HW: KIDS KAN week – bring in canned goods for people in our community who really could use it in these hard times.

Thurs. 2/26 CW:  (1) finish cookie lab worksheets  (2) finish conduction, convection, & radiation drawings  (3) lesson 3 on states of matter pp. 376-378 & workbook pp. 109-111 lesson 3   HW: finish wkbk. pp. 109-111 if you didn’t in class (2) tomorrow is last day for KIDS KAN  (3) Free Health Fair in the CMS gym Tues. night 6-8 pm

Fri. 2/27 CW: (1) Computer lab – using Comic Life program to make conduction, convection, & radiation examples.  HW Test over chp. 13 will be Friday!

Science 2/18 – 2/20

Wed. 2/18 CW: (1) TCAP review. Students worked in lab groups reviewing concepts covered so far. If a lab group scores a 90% or better, each member will receive a treat and 3 tickets. For every lab group that works well together – debating answers politely, working on science, etc. each member will have the opportunity to replace a “0″ already received with a “100.” HW definitions for chp 13 with colored pictures are due tomorrow.

Thurs. 2/19 CW: (1) Finish TCAP review (2) Heat & Heat Technology chp. 13 – lessons 1 & 2 up through conduction, convection, & radiation pp. 362-371. (3) Brainpop on (1) Heat & (2) Temperature. HW: We need cookies for our lab next week. EACH class needs 2 bags EACH of (a) Keeeber Deluxe Chocolate Chip Cookies (b) Chips Ahoy Chocolate Chip Cookies and (3) Kroger/generic chocolate chip cookies. Tues. 2/10 CW: (1) Go over test (2) MSB Video – Playing Ball without friciton. Is friction necessary? (3) Writing a story & coloring a picture about doing your favorite activity without friction. HW: Science Fair is tonight!

Wed. 2/11 CW: (1) MSB Video – forces in muscles & how they work (2) Begin definitions with colored pictures for chp. 13. They will be due next Thursday or Friday. HW: NONE

Interims come home this week. Students who have been absent due to illness have 1 day for each excused day of absence to make up work. Long term projects that have been assigned such as Science Fair Projects are still due on the original assigned due date.
