Don’t forget about the art auction benefiting St. Jude’s. The items available for bid are on the CMS website. Look at the bottom right hand corner & click where it says 2009 St. Jude’s Art Auction. Also, Spring pictures are coming home Friday 3/27. IF you want them, you must order by April 3rd. All checks are made payable to the picture company – Lifetouch. Thanks!

Thurs. 3/26 CW: (1) Quiz (2) Slinky Lab HW: none Remember EXTRA CREDIT is due Monday. Pick a room in your house with a stereo. Turn on the stereo. Walk around the room & map the loud & soft sounds. Explain how interference makes it happen – the loud spots are where there is constructive interference & the soft sounds are where there is destructive interference.

Fri. 3/27 CW: (1) Begin Sound waves chp. 16 lesson 1- how humans hear & draw diagram of ear HW: emember EXTRA CREDIT is due Monday. Pick a room in your house with a stereo. Turn on the stereo. March 9 -13

This is the last week of the nine weeks. If you have been recently absent, be sure you have turned in your work from when you were out. Spring Break is next week!

I know this is last minute, but CMS is offering an Earth Day t-shirt for $12.  It’s a CUTE green shirt with a rainforest frog.  ALL of the profits will be used to beautify campus with trees, bushes, flowers, etc.  Have money (if check payable to CMS) & shirt size – only adult sizes available in by FRIDAY!!!

Science 3/9-3/13

Mon. 3/9 CW: (1) Write up as a lab group Save the Cube p. 566. Decide what materials you will bring to use to fight conduction, convection, & radiation. (2) Begin on definitions with colored pictures for chp. 15 HW: bring materials for tomorrow’s lab & dress for it.

Tues. 3/10 CW: (1) Go over test for last chp. Test papers returned today. (2) Lab – conduct experiment & collect results HW: definitions with colored pictures for chp. 15 are due Friday

Wed. 3/11 CW: (1)  Calculate % of ice melted & write conclusion for lab.  Discuss reasons for unusual answers – mostly due to inaccurate measurements on triple beam balance.  (2) Begin Waves chp. 15 lessons 1 & 2.  We went through 1 together.  Students already know lesson 2 – parts of wave.  (3) Do wkbk.  pp. 122-124   HW (1) finish wb pp. 122-124 if you didn’t in class  (2) definitions chp. 15 with colored pictures due Friday

Thurs. 3/12  CW:  We got to see the CMS production of GREASE today.  Congratulations, Ellie, you stole the show!!!!!!   classes were allowed to work on workbook pages for lesson 2 & their definitions due tomorrow.  HW:  definitions chp. 15 with colored pictures due tomorrow  Don’t forget CMS Earth Day t-shirt order if you want one – $12 due tomorrow

Fri. 3/13  CW: Let’s go Green Day! – St. Patrick’s Day activities – today revolves around social studies  HW: HAVE A VERY HEALTHY, HAPPY, RESTFUL SPRING BREAK!!!!!!!!!!

March 2-6

Don’t forget the Health Fair Tuesday, March 3rd in the gym from 6-8 pm. All activities are FREE. Health professionals will be here for health screenings. There is fun for the whole family with games & activities for the kids! All CMS students attending earn a ticket to go to the student-staff volleyball game, Friday 3/13 & miss last period of the day! The class with the highest percentage of participants gets to PLAY in that volleyball game.
